The O ring does very little IMO. Like corkye said the umbrella type seals. Nope the factory just didnt use the umbrella type.
The positive seals will work good but Ive used the umbrella type too with no problems. Use the plastic sleeve when you install them with either motor oil or assembly lube in the seal and on the valve stem.
